Minutes of the meeting of the By-Pass Committee held at the Community Centre, Lyndhurst on

Tuesday 23rd January 2007 at 6.30 p.m.

Present:

Mr J Charlesworth (Chairman), Mr F Alexander, Professor K Barber, Mr G Bisson and Mr M Woolley.

Mrs M Weston, Clerk to the Council

Apology for Absence:

Apologies for absence were received from Mr M Rollé.

Beaulieu Seminar

Mr Charlesworth explained that the purpose of the meeting was to decide what action, if any, should be taken in response to the statement from County Councillor Ken Thornber that would be published in the Lymington Times on Friday, 26 January.

The statement indicated possible action that could be taken following the Seminar on New Forest Transport that had taken place at Beaulieu on 19 January.

The Bypass Committee was particularly concerned that Councillor Thornber was intimating that a “through route” should be considered and this suggested that an inner bypass route be given consideration. It was agreed that the Parish Council had always been against this course of action.

RESOLVED: That Professor Barber prepare a statement for consideration by the Committee and that, once approved, it be sent to the Lymington Times for publication in the same issue as the statement from Councillor Thornber.

Any Other Business

In the absence of any other business the Chairman thanked those present for attending and closed the meeting.
