Hello,

Just one dwelling burglary for these dates. On this case – someone forced their way through a fairly large dog flap. This is worth noting if you either have one of these or are considering it.

This house was on the one way system at Lyndhurst, which seems to have a disproportionate amount of burglaries – either directly on the one way system or in the close vicinity. Houses without alarms are targeted so my advice is the obvious, if you live on these roads or very close by, then please consider getting an alarm.

Most houses are burgled from the rear or a secluded section so do your best to stop people getting round the back of your house by using decent gates, fencing, trellis, spiky hedges etc.

Still more New Forest car park vehicle break ins are occurring and in nearly every case, the victims have lost a handbag or purse – which was tucked under a front seat after having got to the car park to save having to carry it around on their walk.

I will be starting a Pub Watch scheme very shortly which will basically involve the following – if you cause trouble at one pub and are barred, then you will be barred from all the local pubs. Names of those barred will be passed between Landlords and posters explaining this system will be displayed at all pubs involved in the scheme – and this will be the majority of the local pubs.

I will also be requesting that anyone convicted of an offence at a licensed premises in Lyndhurst will be given an exclusion order which will effectively be a Court Order barring that person from that pub or a number of pubs for a particular time.

We will have to see how this works but it should have a strong deterrent effect anyway.

Anyway, I am running a Police Surgery / drop in at the Community Centre roughly once a month and each date will be advertised on the outside notice board of the Community Centre and would be happy to see you for any queries etc.
