Hello,

My first ‘victim’ of the Pub Watch scheme is soon to be circulated across the Pubs/Wine bars in Lyndhurst.

On this occasion the male entered a High Street licensed premises and was abusive and aggressive to staff over the no sales to Under 21s policy in Off Licensed premises.

He declined to leave despite my requests so was arrested and kept in overnight and fined.

He has been told that he is now barred from licensed premises in Lyndhurst under the Pub Watch Scheme –‘Barred from one, Barred from All!

He certainly didn’t expect this to happen.

Anyway, I must apologise for the delay in putting out this Newsletter/Crime Summary.

There are two main reasons for this, one being a brand new, very complicated computer system which records everything and a major operation for me in dealing with a one night crime wave (14th April) by three 13 year olds in the village who were responsible for at least 25 offences including garage burglaries, criminal damage to cars and buses, theft from cars and miscellaneous thefts including from the Church.

All were arrested, kept in custody and subsequently Charged / Reported.

The lesson to learn from this was that every garage and car they went into was unlocked. The worst affected areas were Wellands Road, High Street, and Kings Close.

To put this into perspective, the vast majority of the things taken were very low value and most of it has been recovered and quite a number of people didn’t even know they had been a victim of crime until I showed them.

This has taken a very considerable amount of work to go through and I am still in the process of returning the last of the stolen property.

For those who still see the HGV’s in the High Street, I do apologise but I am picking them off when I see them and give a Fixed Penalty ticket to every driver.

The Traffic Dept/Roads Policing Unit will also be doing another purge on them.

I am running a Police Surgery / drop in at the Community Centre roughly once a month and each date will be advertised on the outside notice board of the Community Centre and would be happy to see you for any queries etc.
