Hello,
A two monthly
Beat report again.
Whilst there were a considerable number of
incidents recorded for the area over the time period, the vast
majority were not actually crimes, or crimes that affected local
people as such, i.e. drugs found on prisoners at the Police Station,
rural forest car park crime etc.
The forest car parks continue
to be targeted so just don’t leave your valuable in your
car if you visit them.
Most vehicles attacked, have had handbags
stashed under the front seats, or have had items moved to the
boot when at the car park, where any potential thief will have
seen what was placed there.
It never fails to amaze me what people
leave on show in these car parks.
You will see that there were
no house burglaries for the area over the last couple of months
and just a couple of non dwelling burglaries, and of these, one
was an old wooden garage where nothing was stolen.
Two vehicle
crimes to note: one in Sandy Lane where just a pair of sunglasses
and loose change was stolen from a possibly unlocked car, and
the other where two men were found by the owner in the process
of stealing his tractor, before they left it where it was and
made off.
Six assaults reported, which sounds quite bad, however….a
breakdown of the figures show two of these were at a local education
premises, one was after a family dispute related matter and one
was a very minor one between two teenage girls.
The other two
resulted in all offenders being arrested.
One incident showed
a naked man walking around the Romsey Road area of Lyndhurst – which
caused annoyance/disgust to some, amusement to others and me
wondering if he had a clothing allergy.
The Police cells soon
beckoned.
I am still on restricted duties and have not been about,
but expect that to change soon.
At the time of writing this,
my next Police Surgery/drop in at the Community Centre does not
yet have a fixed date, but I should be able to arrange one shortly.
See the ‘Whats On’ Community Centre guide of check
the outside notice board of the Community Centre.
