Me again,
No dwelling burglaries reported, or assaults.
Not really too much to talk about this time, no specific patterns
of crime and not many crimes reported.
Another shed burglary in Emery Down with gardening equipment
stolen.
Its worth considering putting your post code on your
electrical/petrol driven garden machinery either with a magic
marker, paint, scratched or stamped in if you keep it in a shed.
You will see that thefts from sheds are on these newsletters/Crime
Summaries every time – particularly Emery Down, Bank areas – so
its just possible your shed may be next and these items are rarely
recovered as they are so easy to move on through boot sales,
markets etc.
Clearly someone had it in for Vauxhall cars overnight on the
24th Sept. Three vehicles broken into in various locations with
one of them being driven or rolled into a bus parked up in the
main car park.
Please note that quite a few crimes go unreported, and the same
applies across the country. This can be either due to the aggrieved
thinking ‘I won’t bother the Police with this, they
have enough on their plate’ to ‘what’s the
point, the Police won’t find them/do anything or if they
do the Courts will give them a slap on the wrist’.
I can understand this, but at the very least – if the Police
don’t know about something then we can’t do anything.
As for the Courts – that is something always out of our
control.
There are always cases where we all know what has happened and
who has committed the crime but due to lack of hard evidence-
statements, clear video footage etc, the offender gets away with
it.
This is demoralising for all concerned, not least the victim
but if you don’t report the crime, the Police have no chance
of finding the offender and a distorted view of crime levels
in the area.
I am running a Police Surgery / drop in at the Community Centre
roughly once a month and each date will be advertised on the
outside notice board of the Community Centre and would be happy
to see you for any queries etc.
