This time of the year is buier due to the amount of alcohol consumed. Reports of criminal damage are always greater.
Lyndhurst High Street had three incidents of damage. One was to the cash point machine at the Nat West Bank. Two other shops had windows broken. In Ashurst there was a spate of criminal damage on Christmas Eve.
Those responsible started by smashing the window to Alldays with a wine bottle then heading in the Foxhills area smashing car mirrors and windows including fencing on route. In all there were six victims.
Rowdy Behaviour
The recreational park in Wellands Rd Lyndhurst had a Rowdy Group converge on it. Luckily no damage was caused this time. It was the noise that alerted local residents.
Burglary
There were two Dwelling Burglary’s and two non dwelling Burglary’s. An elderly occupant in Ashurst woke in the morning to discover her home had been burgled. Nothing had been taken. The other was to a flat in a Lyndhurst.
In Woodlands road Netley Marsh a wooden store shed was broken into after the offenders broke into a car parked in front of the store to move it. This isn’t the first time the store has been broken into. Also offenders tried to break inot a shop in Lyndhurst High Street.
Damage
There were nine incidents of criminal damage. These have already been high lighted.
Assault
There was one incident where a male was assaulted by a group whilst in the High Street in Lyndhurst. Luckily his injuries were not serious.
Theft from a Motor Vehicle
There were six motor vehicles broken into . Handbags again being the main target.

Theft
There were no reported incidents of theft but there has been an increase in attempted identity type thefts where offenders have tried to apply for a credit card in the victims name.
