February already and this is election year for the Parish Councillors.
Hopefully, you will all be happy with the work done by your Parish Council but regardless of this have you ever considered standing for the Parish Council yourself?
Voting takes place on 5th May but the last date for receipt of nominations will be 4th April.
If you would like more details about what being a Parish Councillor entails please contact me or any of our Councillors.
We will all be pleased to help.
Above all, when the time comes, please make the effort and vote.
Please be aware that the 30 mph speed limit on the Southampton Road came into force on 1st February.
The signage has been in place for some time but is now enforceable.
The Go South Coast group of bus companies is planning to introduce changes to Bluestar and Wilts & Dorset services that run through Totton from 27 February.
I understand there is still some fine tuning to do but it is likely that Wilts and Dorset routes 56/56A between Lymington, Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst, Totton and Southampton will be rebranded as Bluestar 6.
There will be revised times throughout the day, with some additional morning journeys provided from Monday to Saturday.
A new regular two hourly timetable is proposed on Sundays.
All journeys on Bluestar 6 will run to the present 56A route via Foxhills and Rushington rather than the 56 route direct via the A35.
More information can be obtained on

With regard to concessionary travel the situation is not finalised but the Government has passed the running of the scheme from NFDC to HCC.
It now seems likely that elderly pass holders will only be able to travel free on buses after 9.30 am.
However, disabled pass holders will still be able to travel free before 9.30 am.
Following safety checks the aerial runway has now been reinstalled in the Recreation Ground.
The Recreation Committee is hoping to be able to further enhance the existing play equipment this summer.
The remainder of the fencing between Coles Mead and Holmfield will be dealt with shortly and I hope to be able to report next month that the ongoing problem of large puddles under the swings has been dealt with.
The Parish Council meet again on Tuesday, 8 February at 7.15 pm in Lyndhurst Community Centre.
Members of the public are very welcome to attend and there is an opportunity to raise matters during public participation.
Our Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 15 March so please put the date in your diary and come along.
You will be made very welcome.
