| Dr Julian Lewis MP |
Julian was born in 1951. He was educated at Grammar School, and Oxford University.
Between 1979 and 1982, he was a seaman in HM Royal Naval Reserve.
Julian has been a former adviser to MPs and Peers, including Baroness Cox, Lord Orr-Ewing OBE, Lord Wyatt, and Edward Leigh MP.
Julian was the Director of the Coalition for Peace Through Security between 1981 and 1985, and Director of Policy Research Associates since 1985.
He was also Deputy Director of the Conservative Research Department from 1990 until 1996.
His
publications include British Military Planning 1942-47, and Who’s
Left? An Index of Labour MPs and Left-Wing Causes 1985-92.
Julian's Experience
After being elected as a MP in the 1997 general election, Julian was appointed Joint Secretary of the Conservative Parliamentary Defence Committee.
In 1998, he was appointed as a member of the Welsh Select Committee and as a member of the Select Committee on Defence in February 2000.
He was appointed an Opposition Whip in September 2001.
In November 2002, he was appointed a Shadow Defence Minister. |
