| Taz - Police
Dog |
Dog walkers and ramblers in the New Forest are being asked to
be extra alert today and keep an eye out for police dog Taz,
who has been missing since yesterday morning (Friday, Feb 10).
Taz was out for his morning exercise at Ocknell yesterday when
he disappeared after bolting off to chase a deer.
A couple of sightings of the 19-month-old German Shepherd have
been reported to us, both yesterday afternoon, on the Lyndhurst
side of the A31 – which is where the search for will focus
today.
His handler and fellow officers from his unit searched for Taz
until the early hours of this morning, and are resuming today.
Taz could be several miles away by now and all homeowners and
motorists, and particularly dog walkers and ramblers out to take
advantage of today’s fine weather, are urged to keep their
eyes peeled for Taz.
He is described as a large German Shepherd, with a short-haired
black and tan coat.
If anyone sees him, he is more likely to come to his handler
than a stranger, so our best advice is to call the Force Control
Room on 0845 045 45 45 and his extremely concerned handler will
only be too pleased to come and collect him. |
