Police are appealing for information following a burglary at an address in High Street, Lyndhurst between 11pm on Tuesday, December 18 and 7am on Wednesday, December 19.

The homeowner, a woman in her 40s, woke up on Wednesday morning to find someone had entered her home overnight and carried out a search of her property.

It is believed that a security light sensor was removed from the front of the property and entry was gained by forcing open a ground floor window.

A small amount of cash, bank cards and a set of 150-year-old butter knives were stolen from the address.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has been offered a set of butter knives for sale should contact Police Constable Jason Andrews at Hythe police station on 0845 045 45 45, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
