Lyndhurst Junior Football Club has just scored a £500 council grant for vital new equipment.
The cash was awarded to the club – run by parents and volunteers – by Councillor Pat Wyeth, as part of New Forest District Council’s Rural Grant funding programme.
The club, which has 120 registered players runs nine teams of children in the under 8s and under 16s age ranges, will use the money to buy a desperately needed line making machine, as well as training equipment and match balls.
“I’m delighted to be able to allocate this funding to Lyndhurst Junior Football Club. It’s an excellent organisation run entirely by volunteers, which gives youngsters in the area something to do. It gives youngsters the chance to keep fit, have fun and learn new skills.”
The club uses the two Coles Mead Recreation Ground pitches in Lyndhurst.
The girls compete in the New Forest Girls League, while the boys play in the Testway Youth League. |
