Police release e-fit of Ashurst attacker |

Police in Lyndhurst have released this e-fit of a man who assaulted another man as he made his way home from work.
The incident occurred sometime between 1.45 and 2am on Friday morning, January 11, near to the A326 underpass close to the junction of Foxhills and Knellers Lane, Ashurst.
The 22-year-old Totton man was pushed from behind by two men.
One then proceeded to search his pockets but he managed to fight them off. They headed off in the direction of Fletchwood Lane and the A326.
Nothing was stolen and the man was able to continue his walk home. He sustained minor injuries of swelling to the eyebrow area.
One his attackers may have sustained minor injuries from a punch to the mouth and may be suffering with minor but noticeable facial injuries.
He is described as:
- White
- Aged 23-24 years old
- Approximately 5 feet 9 inches Slim build
- Close cropped dark hair
- Slim ‘bony’ long face
- He was wearing a navy blue hooded top and jeans
Detective Constable Simon Clifford said: “This incident occurred in an isolated area of the New Forest, and it is unlikely there were many people around at that time of the morning.
We would however like to appeal for witnesses who may have seen any suspicious people around at that time or may know something about this incident, particularly in relation to anyone with recent facial injuries.
We would also appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard anything strange in the area at the time to contact us"
