Police are seeking witnesses to a collision near Lyndhurst which left two girl passengers with serious injuries.
At about 4.15pm Thursday, August 6, a pink Renault Clio was travelling towards Lyndhurst in slow traffic on the A35.
As the Clio turned right into Pinkney Lane, it was in collision with a white Renault Trafic van being driven from the opposite direction.
As a result of the collision, two passengers in the Clio were seriously injured.
A nine-year-old Totton girl received life-threatening head injuries for which she is being treated in the paediatric intensive care unit at Southampton General Hospital.
A 17-year-old girl, also from Totton, is being treated at the same hospital for a broken collar bone.
The Clio driver, a pregnant 20-year-old Totton woman, suffered seatbelt bruising and was taken to Princess Anne Hospital, Southampton, for a check-up.
A 17-month-old Totton boy also went to Southampton General Hospital for treatment to a bump on the head.
The driver of the van, a 67-year-old New Milton man, was treated at the scene for airbag burns to his arm.
Police are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the collision.
