The Parish Council Recreation Ground is situated off Wellands Road, Lyndhurst.

There are two main children’s play areas, one for younger children and a play trail, installed in 2008, for slightly older children.

In August 2008 the new play trail was opened and the Parish Council launched the equipment opening to coincide with one of two visits in the summer of 2008 from NFDC Recreation Roadshow.

The day was a huge success and the Parish Council hope to repeat this in 2009 when a large obsolete item of play equipment will be replaced by a multi-play buccaneer ship.

Plans are afoot to make this an even better day out for village youngsters and an excellent introduction to the new equipment for local children and visitors alike.

But plans for the Recreation Ground do not end there. Ideas are coming together for a sustainable cycle track which will be a community project with local young people forming the core of volunteers who will plan, build and maintain the track.
