Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a road traffic incident where a pedestrian was seriously injured on the A35 Southampton Road in Lyndhurst.
At 6.22pm yesterday (Tuesday, January 20), a Honda Civic car was in collision with a 16-year-old boy who was attempting to cross the road near to the Lyndhurst fire station.
The boy, who is from Lyndhurst, sustained serious injuries to his head, chest and pelvis, and was taken by ambulance to the Southampton General Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the Honda car, a 66-year-old man from Totton, did not sustain any injuries as a result of the incident.
Sergeant Chris Stone, investigating the incident, said, “This incident took place on a busy stretch of road during early evening and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward.”
