New Forest awards to showcase business brilliance

This page was last updated on September 18, 2009

Businesses in the New Forest have the opportunity to be recognised for their outstanding achievement in the fourth annual Brilliance in Business Awards, organised by New Forest Business Partnership (NFBP).

The awards were officially launched last Thursday (10 September) at New Forest District Council’s Appletree Court headquarters, Lyndhurst during NFBP’s autumn networking event.

The event was attended by representatives from the business community including the overall winner of the 2008 awards, Tim Anstee of The Wealth Care Partnership Ltd.

This year, awards will be made in six categories.

The individual categories will focus on specialist areas including investment in the workforce, enterprise and innovation, entrepreneurship, development of online technologies and green policies.

One business selected from the winners of the individual categories will be named NFBP Business of the Year.

New Forest Business Partnership Chairman Rob Dewing said:

“The Brilliance in Business Awards always attracts a very high standard of entrants and this year we are looking for even more local businesses, of all sizes, to share their achievements and promote good practice.

“The wide range of award categories offers all businesses in the New Forest an opportunity to nominate themselves and I would like to thank our sponsors for supporting the awards and backing local business.”

New Forest District Council’s portfolio holder for employment, health and wellbeing Councillor Maureen Holding added:

“The council is committed to delivering the economic development strategy for the New Forest and its success depends on close links with New Forest Business Partnership and the diverse commercial organisations within it.

I would encourage any local business to join the NFBP and enjoy the many benefits it has to offer.”

Entries will be accepted until 30 October and awards presented at the Carey’s Manor Hotel on 24 November.
