Talented teenagers will swing into action next month when New Forest District Council hosts the first ever New Forest Junior Open Golf Tournament.
Sixty-eight young golfers from across the county have been selected by their club to compete for the New Forest Junior Team Challenge Trophy at Dibden Golf Centre on June 3.
Golfers will play one round of 18 holes in four ball groups, made up of two under 18s and two under 14s.
The event at Dibden is being held in conjunction with golf event organiser 'Aquaduct' and is set to become an annual fixture for the county's junior golfers.
Cllr Barry Rickman, portfolio holder for leisure at NFDC, said:
"This is a great opportunity for young golfers to show off their talents and compete in a top county competition. I am pleased Dibden Golf Centre has been chosen to host this new event. It's a spectacular course and I'm sure will test many of the golfers on the day."
Spectators are invited to come and watch the competition. They'll also have opportunities to find out how to improve their handicap and swing, and even how to get started in the game.
Parking is available at Clayfields Sports Ground, Clayfileds Lane, Dibden. A park and ride service will be running on the day, and refreshments will be available.
