News: Doorstep/Phone Calls – Solar Panel Device

Be alert to Cold Callers offering a device that allegedly cuts power to solar panels in the event of a fire.

Claims that new laws are coming into force to cover fire safety linked to solar panels, and that the Fire Service will not attend fires in homes where their solar panels have caught fire are untrue.

Trading Standards urge residents not to agree to work at the door, and to always get 3 quotes from reputable traders.

Report Doorstep Crime, or request a Trading Standards approved trader scheme ‘Buy With Confidence’ directory by calling our Partners at the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline on 03454 04 05 06
