On Sunday 19 April 2009 Lyndhurst residents and visitors donned their walking shoes to take part in the launch of the Lyndhurst Parish Circular Walk.
The walk was devised from an idea by Councillor Mark Böckle and took two years of planning.
There is now a new map board in the village car park, giving details of the walk and leaflets containing more information can be obtained from the nearby New Forest Centre, local pubs, camp sites and hotels.
Mark devised the idea to give local people, their visitors and tourists a guide showing the beauties of the forest in which Lyndhurst lies as well as the opportunity to explore some of the outlying hamlets that form part of the parish.
Also taking part in the launch day were local Scouts who were raising funds for a much needed new Scout hut.
This was highlighted with an egg decorating and egg rolling competition organised by local parent Jo Rollé. |
